From the word study
The word clearly means that the enemy is overpowered, defeated. But it
did not come easy, through suffering or after a long or hard fight. The
enemy is all that is evil. It did cost Jesus His life. It will cost
His followers tribulation.
It is a dangerous presumption to think that before the great tribulation
all the believers will safely be 'raptured' into safety of heaven.
The churches of all times have experienced hardships. The churches that
enter into the last tribulation have to go the same way. Jesus speaks
about that time in Luke 21:28 "But when
these things begin to take place, straighten up and lift up your heads,
because your redemption is drawing near."
Luke 21:34-36 "Be
on guard, so that your hearts will not be weighted down with dissipation
and drunkenness and the worries of life, and that day will not come on
you suddenly like a trap; [35] for it will come upon all those who dwell
on the face of all the earth. [36] "But keep on the alert at all
times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that
are about to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man."
In Luke 21 There
is a swift in the conversation. Jesus starts out to talk about the tempel.
Predicting the destruction of Jerusalem and the even describing Jesus
is responding to local things
You better be PREPARED
than surpised, make sure you will OVERCOME and ENDURE TO THE END.
